The Pakistan Street Child Football Team has landed in Mexico City to participate in the Street Child Football World Cup 2026, marking a significant achievement for a program dedicated to empowering disadvantaged children through sport and social inclusion.

Upon arrival, the team was warmly greeted at the airport by members of the Pakistani diaspora in Mexico, including Hamza Arshad and Usman Ansari, who welcomed the young athletes on behalf of the overseas community. This reception underscored the strong backing from Pakistanis abroad for the players representing their country on an international platform.

Supported by Muslim Hands, the initiative focuses on education, child welfare, and rehabilitation for vulnerable groups. It provides street-connected children with a unique opportunity not only to demonstrate their football skills but also to voice their personal stories and challenges on a global stage.

Officials revealed that the players have undergone extensive preparation involving months of structured training, personal development workshops, and team-building activities ahead of the tournament. Coaches expressed optimism about the squad’s readiness to face tough international competitors.

“This event is far more than a football tournament,” a team representative stated. “It offers a chance to shift perceptions, boost the children’s confidence, and showcase their potential worldwide.”

In addition to competing, the Pakistani players will engage in cultural exchange programs and child rights awareness initiatives alongside other participating nations. These activities aim to foster dialogue on critical issues such as education access, child protection, poverty alleviation, and social inclusion, especially for children living in vulnerable or street-connected situations.

Organizers emphasize that the Street Child Football World Cup serves as a platform to amplify marginalized children’s voices while promoting sport as a means of empowerment and rehabilitation. The event unites teams from various countries, enabling participants to connect, learn, and build solidarity beyond national boundaries.

Muslim Hands reaffirmed its dedication to supporting disadvantaged children through sustained development efforts, highlighting the role of sport in cultivating discipline, confidence, and new opportunities.

As the tournament commences in Mexico, supporters both in Pakistan and abroad are expected to closely follow the team’s progress. The young players are viewed as symbols of resilience and hope, representing Pakistan with pride and bringing visibility to children whose stories often remain unheard on the international stage.
