Between September 15 and 17, security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conducted operations that resulted in the deaths of ten militants and the martyrdom of six security personnel. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid homage to the brave forces and expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during these engagements.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that an intelligence-driven operation in North Waziristan led to the killing of six militants. Security forces engaged the hostile elements after receiving intelligence about their presence, leading to a fierce firefight that ended with the elimination of the militants.
In another encounter in Hangu district, four additional militants were neutralized by security personnel. The military identified these militants as members of the so-called “Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij” group, recovering weapons and ammunition from the site. These militants were implicated in multiple terrorist activities within the region.
Meanwhile, on September 17, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a security forces convoy, resulting in the martyrdom of six soldiers. Following these confrontations, sanitization operations were launched to clear any remaining militants from the affected areas.
The ISPR emphasized that counter-terrorism operations continue under the government’s “Azm-i-Istehkam” initiative, which has the endorsement of the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. This initiative aims to eradicate terrorism from the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif honored the sacrifices made by the fallen personnel, describing them as heroes of the nation whose sacrifices would inspire the country. He vowed that operations against terrorism would persist with full determination until the threat is completely eliminated.
The ISPR also paid tribute to the security forces for their courage and dedication, stating that the sacrifices made reinforce their commitment to protecting the nation’s security and peace.
