ISLAMABAD: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan underscored the importance of constitutional supremacy and impartial justice as fundamental priorities for the nation. He emphasized that strict adherence to the Constitution is crucial for maintaining societal stability and the rule of law.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new judicial year in Islamabad on Tuesday, Justice Khan highlighted that the Constitution clearly delineates the powers and limitations of state institutions. He stressed that all exercises of public authority must strictly conform to constitutional boundaries to uphold the legal framework.

Justice Khan described the commencement of the judicial year as an opportunity to renew the judiciary’s commitment to delivering justice fairly and efficiently. He reiterated that access to justice is a fundamental right for every citizen and called for the consistent application of constitutional justice without any discrimination.

In a significant development, the FCC chief justice pointed out the vital role of modern technology in judicial processes, noting that its integration enhances institutional capacity and transparency. He also highlighted that the FCC has issued several landmark rulings within a short timeframe, demonstrating its dedication to fulfilling its constitutional duties.

The FCC was established following the enactment of the 27th Constitutional Amendment in November 2025, which brought substantial reforms to Pakistan’s judicial system. Justice Khan emphasized that case hearings are scheduled through a transparent process, underscoring the necessity of fairness in judicial proceedings.

He further stressed the essential nature of judicial independence as a cornerstone of any democratic society. Meanwhile, efforts to strengthen cooperation within the judicial sector are ongoing, including through international visits and exchanges.

Justice Khan also noted the significance of visits by bar associations and other delegations to the FCC, which foster greater interaction and engagement with the legal community. He reaffirmed the court’s unwavering commitment to executing its constitutional responsibilities with determination and integrity.
