Security forces have eliminated 36 terrorists in the last 12 to 24 hours amid ongoing counter-terrorism operations throughout Balochistan, raising the total to 48 militants neutralized over the past 48 to 72 hours. The military has identified these militants as Indian-backed operatives associated with the proxy groups “Fitna al Hindustan” and “Fitna al Khawarij.”
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) detailed that multiple intelligence-driven operations were conducted in the districts of Mastung, Quetta, Kalat, and Sibi during this recent phase. These efforts are part of an intensified campaign targeting what the military describes as foreign-sponsored terrorism within the province.
In Mastung, security personnel detected militant movement, prompting an operation on Friday that resulted in a fierce gunbattle and the deaths of six terrorists. During this encounter, a significant cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices was also destroyed.
Meanwhile, in the Shaban area of Quetta, troops uncovered four militant hideouts. A subsequent firefight led to the killing of 26 members of the Fitna al Khawarij group. In Kalat, forces raided a terrorist hideout, killing two militants identified as Indian-backed operatives.
In Sibi’s Bhag area, security forces, with swift assistance from local residents, thwarted an attempted assault on a police station by militants. Two terrorists were killed during the ensuing clash.
These operations have brought the total number of terrorists killed in Balochistan within the last three days to 48. The military confirmed that sanitization operations are ongoing to flush out any remaining militants in the affected regions.
These counter-terrorism activities fall under the government’s “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The military emphasized that this campaign will continue vigorously to eradicate foreign-supported terrorism from the country.
In a significant development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their professionalism and bravery in the recent operations against Fitna al Hindustan terrorists in Balochistan. He reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing the fight against terrorism until the threat is entirely eliminated.
Shehbaz Sharif underscored that the security forces are conducting effective operations to prevent militants from destabilizing peace in the country, particularly in Balochistan. He assured that such attempts will not be allowed to succeed.
The prime minister also expressed solidarity with the armed forces, stating that the entire nation stands united in support of their commitment to protect Pakistan’s security and sovereignty.
