Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who serves as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, arrived in Türkiye on Sunday to commence a two-day official visit. His arrival was marked by a warm reception, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations.
During this visit, Field Marshal Munir is expected to engage in high-level discussions with Türkiye’s military commanders and political leaders. These talks will focus on deepening bilateral cooperation and addressing shared strategic interests, underscoring the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.
This diplomatic engagement follows recent significant events in the region. Notably, on July 3, Field Marshal Munir, accompanied by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, traveled to Tehran to pay homage to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was tragically killed in a US-Israeli strike on February 28. This visit highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and solidarity with neighboring countries.
As Pakistan and Türkiye continue to cultivate their longstanding strategic and defense relationship, this visit by Field Marshal Munir is seen as a pivotal step in reinforcing mutual cooperation and addressing evolving security challenges in the region.
