Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has asked the DIG South for a report after a video purportedly showing armed men harassing and threatening people in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area spread widely on social media. The clip is said to show intimidation at several locations in the district.
Lanjar told police to identify the men in the footage, saying those who use weapons to frighten citizens must face justice. He also ordered a full inquiry into whether the video is genuine and into the circumstances behind it.
Armed men allegedly seen mocking residents in DHA
The footage reportedly shows men in a car threatening passers-by with firearms at different points in DHA. They are also allegedly seen mocking people, and one masked man is said to aim a weapon at pedestrians.
Lanjar said legal action would be taken against those involved if the allegations are confirmed. He also directed the DIG South to submit a report on the matter.
Police yet to confirm identities or arrests
Police have not publicly confirmed who the men are, nor have they announced any arrests linked to the incident. The video has not been independently verified, and it remains unclear when and where it was filmed.
