    Libyan General Haftar Meets Pakistan Army Chief to Boost Military Ties

    Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to meet with Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The high-level meeting centered on regional security issues and the expansion of bilateral defense cooperation between the two nations.

    During their discussions, both military leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening ties through professional military training and collaborative security efforts. The agenda also included exploring opportunities to deepen defense relations and enhance mutual support.

    Upon arrival at the GHQ, Lt-Gen Haftar was honored with a guard of honor presented by a tri-services contingent comprising personnel from the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force. This ceremonial welcome underscored the significance of the visit and the respect accorded to the Libyan delegation.

    Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering peace, stability, and constructive engagement with allied countries. Meanwhile, Lt-Gen Haftar praised the professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces and recognized their vital role in maintaining regional peace and security.

    In a significant development, both sides agreed to intensify cooperation in defense training and security collaboration, aiming to build a stronger partnership that benefits their respective armed forces and contributes to broader regional stability.
