Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of Ghana, visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where he met with Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral defence collaboration.

During the discussions, both military leaders agreed to strengthen their military-to-military relations, with particular emphasis on joint training exercises, counter-terrorism efforts, and defence production initiatives. The Ghanaian chief praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their significant contribution to maintaining regional stability.

In a related development, Ghana’s National Security Coordinator Abdul Razak Osman held separate meetings with Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. Lieutenant General William Agyapong was also present during these engagements.

Upon arrival at GHQ, the Ghanaian delegation was honored with a guard of honor presented by a well-disciplined tri-services contingent, reflecting the importance of the visit and the strong ties between the two countries’ armed forces.
