Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to undertake a four-day official visit to China from May 23 to 26. This significant trip follows a formal invitation extended by the Chinese leadership and aims to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries.

During a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed the visit, emphasizing its importance for the bilateral relationship. The timing of the visit is notable as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes high-level meetings with key Chinese officials, such as President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. These discussions are expected to cover a broad range of topics, including political, economic, trade, and strategic cooperation, with the goal of deepening ties and advancing a shared vision for future collaboration.

Shehbaz Sharif will begin his visit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, an industrial center where he will chair the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference. The conference will focus on sectors like information technology, telecommunications, energy storage, and agriculture, highlighting areas of mutual interest and investment potential.

Following the conference, the Prime Minister will proceed to Beijing to participate in an official reception commemorating the historic milestone of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations. This event underscores the enduring nature of the all-weather strategic partnership that Pakistan and China continue to nurture.
