Pezeshkian and Naqvi Discuss Iran-US Talks and Regional Stability

In Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as broader issues of regional stability. The discussions focused on recent developments in diplomatic efforts aimed at implementing bilateral agreements between the two countries.

President Pezeshkian emphasized the significance of maintaining open dialogue, strengthening regional cooperation, and enhancing coordination among Islamic nations to promote peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated earlier on the same day that the negotiations with Iran were approaching their final stages. He issued a stern warning to Tehran, indicating that if a peace agreement is not reached, the US might resort to further military action.

Nearly six weeks after Trump halted Operation Epic Fury under a ceasefire, progress toward formally ending the conflict has been limited. Trump disclosed that he had recently considered authorizing new strikes against Iran but chose to postpone such actions to allow diplomacy additional time.

“We’re in the final stages with Iran. Either we have a deal or we’re going to do some things that are a little nasty,” Trump told reporters, while expressing a preference for a peaceful resolution to avoid further casualties.
