Pakistan Reaffirms Strong Commitment to Combat Terrorism Amid Regional Challenges

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to eliminating terrorism from the region. He highlighted that Pakistan’s ongoing operations within Afghanistan are strategically aimed at dismantling terrorist networks that threaten regional stability and security. This firm stance reflects the country’s broader commitment to safeguarding its citizens and neighboring states from extremist violence.

Speaking on the occasion of Pakistan’s National Day, Senator Dar acknowledged the difficult economic and political climate shaped by persistent regional conflicts. He expressed optimism that despite the austerity measures the government has implemented to navigate these turbulent times, the nation’s foundational values of unity, faith, and discipline will continue to guide Pakistan through these challenges. His remarks underscored the resilience and collective spirit that have historically helped the country overcome adversity.

Senator Dar also took the opportunity to honor the significance of March 23, 1940, when the Pakistan Resolution was adopted. This historic declaration marked a pivotal moment when Muslims of the Indian subcontinent demanded a separate homeland where they could freely live Islamic principles. He paid tribute to the countless sacrifices made by the nation’s forefathers who struggled tirelessly to transform this vision into reality, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan.

Further emphasizing Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism, Dar pointed out that the country’s efforts inside Afghanistan target groups such as Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-ul-Khawarij/TTP, which pose serious threats to peace and security. He praised the bravery of Pakistani security forces who continue to put their lives on the line in this critical mission. The Deputy Prime Minister solemnly honored the martyrs and heroes whose sacrifices have been instrumental in protecting the nation’s future and stability.

In addition to addressing terrorism, Senator Dar reminded the nation not to forget the plight of their Kashmiri brethren. He acknowledged the extraordinary sacrifices made by the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for the fundamental right to self-determination. Pakistan remains resolute in offering unwavering moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris until they achieve this inalienable right, reinforcing the country’s long-standing position on the Kashmir issue.

As Pakistan commemorates its National Day amid a complex regional landscape marked by conflict and economic uncertainty, Senator Dar’s statements serve as a reaffirmation of the country’s steadfast resolve. His message reflects a commitment not only to national security and counterterrorism but also to upholding the principles and sacrifices that have shaped Pakistan’s identity over the decades.
