Karachi Prepares for Eid ul-Fitr 2026 with Detailed Namaz Timings Announced

As the holy month of Ramadan 1447 draws to a close, residents of Karachi are eagerly preparing for the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr celebrations. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially declared that Eid ul-Fitr 2026 will be observed on Saturday, March 21. This announcement follows the moon sighting efforts on the evening of March 19, when the Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere across Pakistan. Consequently, Ramadan will complete a full 30-day cycle this year, pushing the joyous occasion of Eid to the 21st of March.

With the date confirmed, preparations for the Eid Namaz (prayer) are now in full swing throughout the city. The Eid prayers will commence shortly after sunrise on March 21, with most congregations organized between 6:45 AM and 7:45 AM. Some mosques and Eidgahs have also scheduled later prayer sessions up to 10:00 AM to accommodate worshippers’ convenience and avoid overcrowding. Major Eidgahs in Karachi, including those near Mazar-e-Quaid, Lyari, Malir, and several open grounds, are expected to witness large gatherings, reflecting the city’s vibrant religious spirit.

To assist residents in planning their Eid day, authorities have released a detailed area-wise schedule of Eid Namaz timings. This comprehensive list includes timings for mosques across various neighborhoods such as Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Saddar, Clifton, Korangi, Lyari, and more. Worshippers are encouraged to arrive at their local mosques or Eidgahs at least 15 to 20 minutes early to secure their place and avoid last-minute rushes. Additionally, enhanced security measures and traffic management plans will be implemented throughout Karachi to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all attendees.

For instance, in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar areas, Jamia Masjid Bait-ul-Mukarram will hold Eid prayers at 7:30 AM, while Jamia Masjid Imam Ibn Taymiyyah and Jamia Masjid Yaseen-ul-Quran have scheduled their prayers for 7:15 AM. Similarly, in North Nazimabad and surrounding localities, Jamia Masjid Zakia will conduct prayers at 7:45 AM, and Anubhai Park Eidgah at 7:40 AM. These timings have been carefully coordinated to distribute the large number of worshippers across multiple venues and time slots.

Meanwhile, in the Saddar and PECHS areas, Jamia Masjid Dakhni and Jamia Masjid Sunheri will start prayers at 7:45 AM, with other mosques like Jamia Masjid Khalid bin Waleed and Jamia Masjid Subhaniya beginning slightly earlier around 6:50 to 6:55 AM. Clifton and Defence areas will see prayers commencing as early as 6:45 AM at Sadiq Sports Ground, with other mosques like Abdullah Shah Ghazi Mosque and Faizan-e-Saifiya Mosque holding sessions between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. The Korangi and Malir zones have also set their timings, with Jamia Masjid Aqsa Eidgah in Landhi scheduled for 7:30 AM and Central Eidgah Malir at 7:30 AM.

It is important to note that while these timings provide a general guideline, slight variations may occur depending on individual mosque management decisions. Worshippers are advised to confirm the final prayer times with their local mosque committees or imams to avoid any confusion on the day of Eid. Additionally, residents should be mindful of traffic advisories, as several roads near major prayer venues will be closed to facilitate smooth movement and security protocols.

To ensure a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Eid, authorities have urged everyone to cooperate with security personnel and follow the recommended guidelines, such as arriving early, dressing modestly, and refraining from carrying unnecessary items. Performing the Eid prayer in congregation holds special significance, symbolizing unity and collective gratitude after a month of fasting, reflection, and charity.

As Karachi’s mosques and Eidgahs prepare to echo with the Takbeerat, millions of worshippers will come together to mark the end of Ramadan with joy and devotion on March 21. This festive occasion not only celebrates spiritual renewal but also encourages forgiveness, generosity, and community bonding. On this auspicious day, heartfelt prayers are offered for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of all.

Wishing all residents of Karachi a blessed and joyous Eid ul-Fitr 2026. May Allah accept your fasting, prayers, and good deeds. For the latest updates and any last-minute changes, it is recommended to stay connected with local mosque announcements and official Karachi city portals.
