Balochistan Launches Electric Bike Scheme Offering Bikes at Rs 4,773 Monthly Installments

QUETTA: In a progressive move aimed at empowering the youth and women of Balochistan, the provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has unveiled a new Electric Bike Scheme. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable transportation and provide affordable mobility solutions to the province’s residents, especially students and female professionals.

The scheme sets the price of each electric bike at Rs 175,000. To make these environmentally friendly vehicles more affordable, the government is offering a significant subsidy of 30 percent, which amounts to Rs 52,500 per bike. This subsidy substantially reduces the financial burden on applicants, encouraging wider participation across the province.

Applicants who qualify for the program will be required to pay an initial down payment of Rs 17,500. Following this, the remaining balance can be paid in manageable monthly installments of Rs 4,773 over a period of two years, or 24 months. This flexible payment plan has been designed to accommodate the financial constraints of students and working women, making it easier for them to own an electric bike without straining their budgets.

Those interested in participating in the scheme can register online through the official government portal at www.ebike.balochistan.gov.pk. The application process is straightforward and involves several key steps. First, applicants must provide their personal information and specify their category, whether youth or women. Next, they need to upload all necessary documents to support their application. After carefully reviewing and verifying the details, applicants submit their forms for consideration.

To ensure fairness and transparency, the selection of beneficiaries will be conducted through a public balloting system. This lucky draw will determine the successful candidates who will then be eligible to receive their electric bikes. The government has emphasized that this transparent process is intended to build trust and give equal opportunity to all applicants.

This initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to fostering economic inclusion and environmental sustainability. By facilitating access to electric bikes, the scheme not only promotes clean energy but also enhances mobility for groups that often face transportation challenges. As Balochistan continues to develop, such programs are expected to play a crucial role in improving the quality of life and supporting the province’s overall progress.
