On March 13, 2026, in the coastal city of Jeddah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant high-level dialogue with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This meeting took place against the backdrop of escalating tensions across the Middle East, a region currently grappling with complex security challenges and geopolitical uncertainties. The discussions primarily revolved around enhancing bilateral cooperation, addressing regional security concerns, and reinforcing the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm regards to King Salman, acknowledging the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Pakistan over the years. This gesture underscored the deep-rooted diplomatic and cultural ties that bind the two nations. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent assistance, which has played a crucial role in Pakistan’s socio-economic and strategic landscape.

In a clear demonstration of solidarity, Pakistan reiterated its full support for Saudi Arabia amid the current regional challenges. Both leaders emphasized the importance of standing united during these turbulent times, recognizing that stability in the Middle East is vital not only for their countries but for global peace. The Prime Minister assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Pakistan remains committed to backing Saudi Arabia’s efforts to maintain security and order in the region.

The dialogue also covered recent developments in the Middle East, with both leaders stressing the necessity of enhanced regional cooperation. They agreed that collaborative efforts are essential to prevent further escalation of conflicts and to promote peace and stability. This meeting highlighted the shared vision of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to work together in addressing threats that could undermine the security of the broader region.

Adding to the momentum of this diplomatic engagement, it is worth noting that just a week prior, Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman held talks with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir. Their discussions focused on the recent Iranian attacks targeting Saudi territory, which have raised serious concerns about regional security. Both sides condemned these attacks, emphasizing that such actions jeopardize peace and could lead to dangerous miscalculations. The Saudi statement following that meeting called for restraint and urged Iran to avoid provocative behavior that could destabilize the region further.

Overall, the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman not only reinforced the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia but also showcased a united front in the face of rising Middle Eastern tensions. This encounter serves as a testament to Pakistan’s dedication to supporting Saudi Arabia and collaborating closely to achieve shared objectives of peace, security, and regional stability.
