In response to escalating security concerns, the authorities in Gilgit-Baltistan have declared a three-day curfew in the key cities of Gilgit and Skardu. This decisive measure aims to restore stability and prevent any further disturbances in the region. The announcement came on Sunday, reflecting the administration’s urgent efforts to address the prevailing law and order challenges.

The district administration has emphasized that during this curfew period, all non-essential movement will be strictly prohibited. Residents are being strongly advised to stay indoors and avoid venturing out unless absolutely necessary. This directive is intended to minimize public gatherings and reduce the risk of any untoward incidents that could exacerbate the current situation.

To enforce the curfew effectively, law enforcement agencies will maintain a visible and active presence throughout various neighborhoods and strategic locations across Gilgit-Baltistan. Continuous patrolling will be conducted to ensure compliance with the restrictions, and authorities have made it clear that any violations of the curfew orders will result in immediate legal consequences. This approach underscores the administration’s commitment to upholding peace and security in the region.

In addition to the enforcement measures, officials have appealed to the local population for their cooperation and understanding during this challenging period. Citizens are urged to avoid spreading unverified information or rumors that could inflame tensions or create panic. The administration’s call for calm and responsible behavior highlights the importance of community support in overcoming the current difficulties.

It is worth noting that Gilgit-Baltistan has experienced intermittent security challenges in recent times, prompting authorities to take precautionary steps to safeguard public order. The imposition of the curfew reflects a proactive stance aimed at preventing any escalation and ensuring the safety of all residents. As the situation develops, further updates from the administration are expected to guide the public on the next steps.
