The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the results of the Intermediate Part-II annual examinations for the Science General Group on Thursday, revealing that a private college student secured the highest position. Jannat Bint Ali Dost from Concordia College’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed Campus achieved first place by scoring 1,005 marks out of a total of 1,100.
Following closely, Hamza Shakil of Adamjee Government Science College earned the second position with 1,003 marks, while Laiba Zulfiqar from Bahria College, MT Khan Road, secured third place with 989 marks. All three top performers were awarded an A-1 grade for their outstanding results.
BIEK Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho officially announced the results, which were also published on the board’s website on August 27. Zarina Rashid, BIEK’s Controller of Examinations, shared that 18,913 candidates had registered for the Science General Group exams, with 18,591 actually appearing for the tests.
Out of those who took the exams, 10,511 candidates passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 56.54. Among the successful students, 748 secured an A-1 grade, 2,193 obtained an A grade, 3,184 earned B grades, 3,076 achieved C grades, 1,280 received D grades, and 20 candidates passed with an E grade.
In a significant development, Chairman Lakho commended the performance of students from Adamjee Government Science College, highlighting their strong showing as evidence of rising educational standards in Sindh. He praised the dedication of students, educators, and college leadership, noting that the success of government institution students indicates progress in the region’s education quality.
This announcement follows the release of results for other Intermediate Part-II groups earlier this month, including Pre-Engineering on August 17, Humanities Regular on August 7, and Pre-Medical on July 31.
The Science General Group is a key faculty examined by BIEK, encompassing subjects such as mathematics and computer science. For example, the board’s 2026 model papers include Computer Science within this group.
Students can access their Science General Group results through BIEK’s official online result system and website. Notably, this year’s pass rate of 56.54 percent marks an improvement over the 55.59 percent pass rate recorded in 2025, while the number of candidates appearing rose from 16,549 in 2025 to 18,591 in 2026.
