25 Sacrificial Goats Valued at Rs 1.9 Million Stolen in Karachi

In a significant development in Karachi, 25 sacrificial goats valued at Rs 1.9 million were reported stolen from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. This incident has alarmed local residents and traders, especially with Eid-ul-Adha approaching, when demand for sacrificial animals surges. The theft not only represents a substantial financial loss but also disrupts the preparations for the religious festival, which holds great cultural and spiritual importance in Pakistan.

Gulistan-e-Jauhar is a densely populated neighborhood known for its vibrant livestock markets, particularly during the Eid season. The theft highlights ongoing security challenges faced by traders who invest heavily in livestock for the festival. Such incidents can undermine public confidence in market safety and may lead to increased vigilance and calls for enhanced law enforcement presence in the area.

Meanwhile, authorities are expected to intensify investigations to recover the stolen animals and apprehend the culprits. The event underscores the need for better protective measures around livestock markets nationwide, especially during peak seasons. It also serves as a reminder of the economic vulnerabilities faced by small-scale traders in Pakistan’s urban centers.
