Thunderstorms, Rain, and Hail Expected Across Northern Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting widespread weather disturbances, including thunderstorms, rainfall, and potential hailstorms, across various regions of northern Pakistan in the coming days.

Notably, the upper areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong, gusty winds. The Potohar Plateau is also likely to witness similar weather conditions.

In a significant development, hailstorms may occur in parts of northeastern Punjab, posing risks of localized damage to crops, vehicles, and infrastructure. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution during periods of intense weather activity.

Rainfall is forecast for Islamabad and its surrounding areas, including Rawalpindi, Murree, and the Galiyat region. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts such as Chitral, Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Malakand, Parachinar, and adjacent areas are expected to receive showers. Additional precipitation is anticipated in Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohat, Orakzai, Nowshera, and parts of Waziristan.

Punjab will also experience scattered rainfall, with cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Sahiwal likely to see showers. Other areas including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Okara, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, and Dera Ghazi Khan are expected to receive precipitation as well.

Meteorologists explain that this weather system is part of a larger pattern affecting northern and central Pakistan. While the intermittent rainfall may provide temporary relief from rising temperatures, severe storms could disrupt travel and daily routines in the affected regions.
