The Islamabad district administration has moved swiftly to calm public concerns following rumors of petrol shortages at various fuel stations across the federal capital. Officials have confirmed that supplies of both petrol and diesel remain adequate and there is no widespread shortage affecting the city.
An official spokesperson explained that while some petrol pumps have faced temporary supply interruptions, these issues stem from logistical challenges linked to the closure of heavy transport routes, which delayed fuel deliveries to certain locations. Despite these isolated incidents, overall fuel stocks in Islamabad are plentiful.
In response to the situation, the administration has deployed petrol tankers to ensure continuous fuel delivery to affected stations. “Fuel supply is being maintained, and corrective actions are underway,” the spokesperson stated, urging residents not to be alarmed by unverified reports circulating in the media and social platforms.
Assistant Commissioners throughout Islamabad have been assigned to closely monitor fuel availability at petrol stations within their jurisdictions. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad is personally overseeing efforts to guarantee an uninterrupted fuel supply across the city.
Notably, a digital dashboard has been implemented to provide real-time tracking of fuel stock levels at all petrol pumps. This system enables authorities to promptly address any shortages as they arise. “Immediate action will be taken to restore supply in case of any disruption,” the spokesperson affirmed, underscoring the administration’s dedication to maintaining steady petrol and diesel availability for residents.
The administration concluded by appealing for public calm and assuring that the situation is under control, with proactive measures in place to manage fuel distribution effectively.
