Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ray Stevens is currently recovering after sustaining a broken neck in a fall on March 29. The 87-year-old country music legend was briefly hospitalized but has since returned home, where he is expected to wear a neck brace for approximately four weeks.

Despite the injury, Stevens remains fully mobile and in good spirits, an update shared on his official social media account. The incident comes just months after he experienced a mild heart attack in July 2025, which required surgery and led to the cancellation of several performances at his CabaRay Showroom in Nashville.

Stevens, born Harold Ray Ragsdale, is renowned for his unique blend of humor and social commentary in music. His career highlights include the Grammy-winning hit “Everything Is Beautiful” and the novelty song “The Streak,” which captured a cultural phenomenon of the 1970s. He is also known for satirical tracks like “Jeremiah Peabody’s Poly Unsaturated Quick Dissolving Fast Acting Pleasant Tasting Green and Purple Pills,” which humorously critiques advertising culture.

In a significant development, despite these recent health challenges, Stevens’ latest album is still scheduled for release this week, demonstrating his enduring dedication to music and his fans.
