A local court in Karachi sent Iqrarul Hassan to jail on judicial remand on Monday. The court refused the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s (NCCIA) request for further physical remand of the accused.
The case relates to material the accused allegedly posted on social media against the state.
The NCCIA had produced Iqrarul Hassan before the court of Judicial Magistrate-East and sought his physical remand. The magisterial court ordered him sent to jail and directed the NCCIA to submit the challan within 14 days.
The defence lawyer has submitted a bail petition in the case.
