ISLAMABAD: Salman Akram Raja, Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was taken into custody in Islamabad. The arrest occurred as he was en route to attend the funeral of Ejaz Satti near Nilore Police Station.
Notably, PTI stated that Raja, along with MNA Latasab Satti from Murree-Kotli Satiyan and several party workers, were detained while traveling to Kotli Satiyan for the funeral prayers of Ejaz Satti. The party condemned the arrests, describing them as unlawful abductions and alleging that the detentions were intended to obstruct attendance at the funeral.
In a significant development, PTI accused authorities of targeting their members following the death of Ejaz Satti, asserting that these actions were aimed at suppressing public participation in the funeral proceedings. The detained individuals were reportedly transferred to Nilore Police Station in Islamabad.
