Five Terrorists Killed in Panjgur During Intelligence-Based Operation

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sarkini and Chedgi regions of Panjgur district, Balochistan, under the umbrella of Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists, including a prominent militant leader. The operation specifically targeted members of the Fitna al-Hindustan group, with the slain commander identified as Wazir, son of Jamal.

Authorities recovered four motorcycles, machine guns, heavy weaponry, and a significant cache of ammunition from the terrorists’ possession. These militants were reportedly involved in criminal activities such as robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and attacks on traders and civilians within the area.

Security forces are currently conducting a clearance operation to neutralize any remaining Fitna al-Hindustan operatives in the vicinity. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the professionalism and dedication of the security personnel involved in the successful raid, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.

In his statement, Naqvi highlighted the ongoing efforts of the country’s armed forces to eradicate terrorist elements from Balochistan and restore lasting peace to the province. He also affirmed the nation’s solidarity with the security forces in their fight against militancy and reiterated the government’s pledge to support these efforts fully.

Notably, just a day prior, security forces eliminated 15 India-backed terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij during multiple IBOs conducted across various districts of Balochistan, including Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai, and Nushki.

Since 2021, following the Afghan Taliban’s rise to power, Pakistan has experienced a surge in terrorist activities, particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces. A report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) revealed that these two provinces remained the primary hotspots for violence during the second quarter of 2026, with KP emerging as the most affected region.

The report detailed that KP and Balochistan together accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related fatalities during this period. KP alone recorded over 61% (475) of the deaths, while Balochistan accounted for 34% (265). Additionally, KP reported the highest number of violent incidents at 151, representing 57% of the national total, followed by Balochistan with 94 incidents or 35%, underscoring the concentration of militant activity in these regions.
