European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has raised serious concerns regarding recent ceasefire breaches between the United States and Iran, underscoring the vital need to keep communication channels open to avoid further escalation in the region.

In a significant development, Kallas conveyed her apprehensions during a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The conversation also covered bilateral relations between Pakistan and the European Union, the evolving situation in the Middle East, and broader issues of regional peace and stability.

Notably, Kallas praised Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role in shaping the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, which aims to facilitate a truce between Washington and Tehran. She emphasized that all involved parties must maintain active dialogue to reduce tensions across the region.

Meanwhile, Dar updated the EU official on Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic efforts to promote peace, stability, and a reduction in geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. He called on all stakeholders to fully respect the ceasefire terms, stressing that diplomacy and dialogue remain the only effective means to resolve the conflict.

The foreign office further stated that both leaders agreed to strengthen close communication and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting collective initiatives aimed at fostering regional stability.
