The Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has announced a winter gas supply timetable for domestic consumers. The schedule puts household cooking needs first, in line with directives from the Government of Pakistan.
SSGC sets three daily gas windows for households
Under the schedule, domestic users will receive gas during three set periods each day to support cooking:
- Breakfast: 6:30am to 9am
- Lunch: 12pm to 2:30pm
- Dinner: 6pm to 9pm
The company said the measure is meant to keep gas supply steady and managed through the winter months. Consumers have been advised to plan their cooking around these timings. For queries and complaints, they can call the SSGC helpline on 1199 or visit the company’s website.

Karachi court orders SSGC to pay Rs30 million
A Senior Civil Judge (West) in Karachi ruled that SSGC was negligent for failing to repair a gas pipeline despite repeated complaints about leakage in the area. The judge ordered the company to pay Rs30 million in damages to the daughter of a couple who were killed in a gas pipeline explosion in Orangi Town in 2022.
The lawsuit was filed by the couple’s daughter, Alizeh, who had initially sought Rs90 million in compensation. Her counsel, Advocate Usman Farooq, presented the case before the court at the City Court.
According to the claim, SSGC is responsible for supplying gas and maintaining gas pipelines. The explosion was caused by a leak from an SSGC pipeline that the company did not address in time.
