Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar departed on Saturday for Cairo, Egypt, to participate in the fourth meeting of the R-4 foreign ministers, confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This high-level summit convenes the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt to discuss a broad spectrum of bilateral and regional matters.

Notably, the visit highlights Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening ties with pivotal partners in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions. The quadrilateral meeting is set to concentrate extensively on the swiftly changing regional security landscape and political collaboration.

During the summit, the foreign ministers will exchange perspectives on current geopolitical challenges, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts to foster peace, stability, and economic connectivity throughout the region. The R-4 forum has emerged as a crucial platform for these nations to synchronize their foreign policy goals and address mutual security concerns.

In a significant development, the Cairo gathering will also allow Senator Dar to engage in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt. These consultations aim to evaluate and enhance bilateral relations, promote trade and investment, and boost multilateral cooperation within global organizations such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Deputy Prime Minister Dar’s visit arrives at a pivotal moment as Pakistan seeks to recalibrate its diplomatic strategy, balancing longstanding alliances while pursuing new economic and strategic partnerships in the region.
