Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the National Assembly on Monday, declaring that the world has reached a historic milestone for peace, describing it as the dawn of a new era following prolonged conflict. He revealed that Iran and the United States have agreed to a permanent cessation of hostilities on all fronts, marking a significant breakthrough for international stability.
In a notable development, the prime minister announced that the formal ceremony to commemorate this landmark agreement will take place in Geneva on June 19, while Pakistan will serve as the host for the associated diplomatic proceedings. He extended congratulations to both the Pakistani nation and the global community, emphasizing the achievement as a moment of great significance.
PM Shehbaz also expressed his appreciation to members of the National Assembly and political leaders across party lines for their support. He acknowledged the guidance and encouragement of prominent figures including President Asif Ali Zardari, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari throughout the diplomatic efforts.
