The Punjab government inaugurated the Pakistan-China Friendship Gallery on Friday at a newly established museum in Lahore, commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The gallery features photographs and cultural exhibits that illustrate the longstanding bilateral ties.

Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren jointly opened the gallery, emphasizing the commitment to deepen collaboration in areas such as technology, infrastructure, and economic development.

During the ceremony, Aurangzeb described the relationship between Pakistan and China as an “all-weather friendship” that has withstood challenges and expanded into diverse sectors including economic, cultural, and strategic cooperation. She highlighted the pivotal role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), initiated under Chinese President Xi Jinping’s leadership, in steering Pakistan’s economy towards new growth opportunities.

She also noted that the Punjab government has established partnerships with Chinese provinces focusing on agriculture, smart city initiatives, and green infrastructure projects. Aurangzeb stressed the importance of linking future bilateral relations with innovation and youth engagement to sustain momentum.

In addition, Aurangzeb announced a forthcoming event at Expo Centre Lahore on May 25 to further celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expected to attend.

Meanwhile, in Shenzhen, Pakistan was honored as the “Country of Honour” at the World Drone Congress 2026, underscoring the expanding cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing in emerging technologies and digital sectors. Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, Bilal Bin Saqib, represented Pakistan at the event and expressed gratitude for the recognition.

Bilal highlighted that this accolade reflects growing global confidence in Pakistan’s digital and technological capabilities. He pointed out that the integration of drone technology, digitalization, and blockchain is revolutionizing logistics and supply chains worldwide. He also emphasized Pakistan’s progress in digital economy reforms and virtual asset regulation, calling for enhanced innovation, investment, and regulatory coordination within the drone industry.

Reiterating the strength of Pakistan-China relations, Bilal echoed the familiar phrase that their ties are “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the oceans,” a testament to the enduring partnership between the two nations.
