Pakistan Vows Stronger Response to Future Hostilities Against India

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif praised the swift and decisive actions of Pakistan’s armed forces during the Marka-e-Haq operation and issued a stern warning that any future acts of hostility would be met with an even stronger response. Speaking at the launch of a pictorial book titled “The Battle of Truth (Marka-e-Haq),” published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he emphasized the nation’s unity against any form of enemy aggression.

Asif highlighted Pakistan’s emergence as a more stable and powerful state, positioning itself as a symbol of regional stability and a guarantor of peace. He asserted that Pakistan is fully prepared to confront any Indian proxy war attempts. The minister recalled the conflict between Pakistan and India in May of the previous year, which erupted after India launched an unprovoked attack following the killing of 26 tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). New Delhi accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, a claim Islamabad has denied while calling for a neutral investigation.

Following these accusations, India conducted unlawful missile strikes within Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of several civilians and security personnel. Pakistan retaliated by downing seven Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft, shooting down numerous drones, and destroying an S-400 air defence system. Additionally, Pakistan’s security forces launched counterstrikes targeting over 20 Indian military installations across various regions. The conflict concluded on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.

During the ceremony, Asif stated that Pakistan’s armed forces successfully thwarted India’s malicious plans during Marka-e-Haq, including neutralizing the S-400 air defence system. He warned that no country in the region is safe from India’s “Hindutva mindset,” which has repeatedly instigated wars with Pakistan to distract from its internal problems. He referenced the 2019 Pulwama incident, where India conducted so-called surgical strikes but suffered the loss of an aircraft and the capture of a pilot. He also mentioned a similar conspiracy following a false-flag operation in Pahalgam.

The defence minister described India’s hegemonic ambitions as a significant threat to peace and development in South Asia. He stressed that Pakistan has consistently responded to tensions responsibly, reaffirming its commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Asif also noted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting global peace, highlighting its status as a leading contributor to United Nations peacekeeping missions, which reflects the country’s peace-oriented stance.

He praised the Pakistani people for their unity during crises, describing their solidarity as a “steel-like wall” against external threats, transcending political and regional differences. Asif further stated that Pakistan has not only demonstrated military strength but also achieved important diplomatic successes, gaining international recognition. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens remain united and ready to face future challenges effectively.

The minister described the newly launched book as more than just a collection of images and texts; it is a “living narrative” showcasing the nation’s resolve, historic sacrifices, and unity in adversity. He commended the Ministry of Information and ISPR for their efforts in documenting Pakistan’s perspective and underscoring its dedication to peace and stability.
