Dr. Fazeela Abbasi has taken legal steps to have her joint bank account with Hamza Ali Abbasi reinstated after it was frozen amid ongoing investigations. This development came during a recent hearing at the Special Court Central, where the money laundering case against her was being reviewed. The proceedings were presided over by Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar.
In a significant development, the court extended Dr. Fazeela Abbasi’s interim arrest bail until April 20, allowing her to remain out of custody while the case continues. Alongside this, a formal petition was submitted on her behalf by her legal team, requesting the reopening of the joint account that had been frozen as part of the investigation.
Her advocate, Naeem Bukhari, highlighted that the judge overseeing the case is convinced there has been no violation of bail conditions during the three months since it was granted. This assurance played a key role in the decision to prolong the bail period. The court hearing has now been postponed to April 20, providing additional time for further legal proceedings.
This case has drawn considerable attention due to the involvement of prominent figures and the financial scrutiny it entails. The outcome of the petition to restore the joint account will be closely watched, as it could impact the ongoing legal and financial matters surrounding Dr. Fazeela Abbasi and Hamza Ali Abbasi.
