Ex-US Diplomat Criticizes Indian Media Over Pakistan Ceasefire Coverage

Indian media, often characterized by sensationalism and dramatic reporting, has once again drawn criticism for its coverage of Pakistan’s involvement in the ceasefire between Iran and the United States. Known for their loud commentary and frequent dissemination of misleading information, Indian news outlets have expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s mediation efforts in the conflict.

In a recent episode of Indian journalist Madhavdas G’s program, former US diplomat Jeffrey Gunter was invited to provide analysis. The Indian media attempted to portray Pakistan as a problematic nation with security concerns. However, Gunter grew visibly frustrated with the host’s approach and openly reprimanded the Indian anchor for what he described as immature behavior.

Gunter likened the Indian media to schoolchildren, accusing them of focusing on trivial matters rather than serious issues such as rising fuel prices or the loss of innocent lives. He warned that if the media continued to behave in this manner, they would face consequences akin to being punished and made to stand in a corner for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated in India as Pakistan successfully mediated a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. This historic development was marked by delegations from both nations arriving in Islamabad to participate in a summit aimed at permanently resolving the conflict.
