Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forms Committees to Resolve Ramadan Relief Package Issues 2026

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated important measures to tackle the challenges faced by recipients of the Ramadan Relief Package 2026. Following clear instructions from Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the provincial administration has set up dedicated redressal committees aimed at swiftly resolving any grievances or obstacles encountered during the distribution of financial aid to eligible individuals.

These newly formed committees operate under the supervision of assistant commissioners across various districts, serving as the first point of contact for beneficiaries who experience difficulties. Citizens are encouraged to approach their respective assistant commissioner offices to report issues, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. This step reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in delivering social welfare benefits.

One of the common problems identified involves discrepancies in beneficiary data, such as incorrect or incomplete Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) numbers or mobile phone details. In such cases, the assistant commissioner, who chairs the redressal committee, verifies the information before forwarding the matter to the deputy commissioner for necessary corrections. This two-tier verification process aims to minimize errors and prevent delays in payment disbursement.

It is important to note that payments cannot be processed for CNICs that have been blocked, as per official guidelines. Funds associated with such blocked identities are returned to the Director of Social Welfare to avoid any misuse. This measure safeguards the integrity of the relief program and ensures that assistance reaches only legitimate beneficiaries.

Special provisions have also been made for elderly or disabled recipients who face difficulties with fingerprint verification, a mandatory step in the payment process. These individuals are required to obtain a certificate from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) confirming their biometric challenges, along with a Family Registration Certificate (FRC). Upon submission of these documents to the assistant commissioner’s office, the payment can be redirected to a close family member, ensuring no eligible beneficiary is left behind due to technical hurdles.

Furthermore, in unfortunate cases where a registered beneficiary has passed away, the government has outlined a clear procedure for family members to claim the pending assistance. Submission of the deceased’s death certificate along with a formal application at the assistant commissioner’s office will trigger verification. Once confirmed, the payment will be released to a close relative in accordance with the NADRA-issued Family Registration Certificate, providing financial support to bereaved families during the holy month.

Authorities have emphasized the urgency for all beneficiaries experiencing any form of difficulty to immediately reach out to their local assistant commissioner’s office. This proactive approach is designed to ensure that all eligible individuals receive their Ramadan Relief Package funds without unnecessary delays, reinforcing the government’s dedication to social welfare and community support during this significant period.
