Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, shared a detailed update on the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq through his social media platform on Saturday. This military campaign has inflicted substantial damage on Taliban insurgents operating within Afghanistan, marking a critical phase in the ongoing efforts to curb terrorism in the region.
As of 2100 hours on 28 February, the operation has resulted in the deaths of 352 Taliban fighters, with more than 535 others reported injured. These figures underscore the intensity and scale of the offensive, which has targeted militant strongholds with precision and determination. The operation’s success is further reflected in the destruction of 130 Taliban check posts, severely disrupting their control and mobility across various provinces.
In addition to dismantling numerous defensive positions, the operation has also led to the capture of 26 strategic posts previously held by the Taliban. This achievement not only weakens the insurgents’ territorial grip but also provides government forces with critical footholds to consolidate their presence. The campaign has also destroyed 171 tanks and armed vehicles, significantly reducing the Taliban’s capacity to launch coordinated attacks and transport supplies.
Air power has played a pivotal role in this operation, with 41 key locations across Afghanistan targeted effectively through aerial strikes. These coordinated attacks have disrupted Taliban logistics and command structures, contributing to the overall degradation of their operational capabilities. The use of air strikes demonstrates the comprehensive approach adopted by security forces to dismantle militant networks.
Operation Ghazab lil-Haq exemplifies Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region by actively supporting counterterrorism initiatives. The government remains dedicated to collaborating with Afghan authorities and international partners to eliminate extremist threats and create a secure environment for civilians. This operation is a testament to the resolve of security forces to confront terrorism head-on and restore order in conflict-affected areas.
