The United States has reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s sovereign right to protect its territory against Taliban incursions, highlighting the ongoing security challenges faced by the country along its western border. This stance was clearly articulated during a recent conversation between US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, underscoring the importance of regional stability and cooperation.

In a public statement shared on the social media platform X, Allison Hooker expressed condolences for the lives lost amid the recent clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban militants. She emphasized that the US continues to closely observe the evolving situation and stands firmly behind Pakistan’s efforts to defend its borders from hostile attacks. This diplomatic exchange reflects the broader international concern over the security dynamics in the region and the impact of militant activities on peace and development.

Meanwhile, on the ground, Pakistan’s military operations against the Taliban have intensified significantly. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, provided detailed updates on the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, which has been launched to dismantle Taliban strongholds and neutralize their combat capabilities. the minister, Pakistani forces have successfully eliminated 331 Taliban fighters, while inflicting injuries on over 500 militants during the ongoing campaign.

Minister Tarar further revealed that the operation has led to the destruction of 104 Taliban check posts, with Pakistani troops capturing 22 of these strategic positions. The military offensive has also targeted the Taliban’s armored assets, resulting in the destruction of 163 tanks and other military vehicles. These achievements mark a significant blow to the Taliban’s operational infrastructure and their ability to launch further attacks.

In addition to ground operations, the Pakistani Air Force has conducted precision airstrikes on approximately 37 locations across Afghanistan, targeting Taliban hideouts and supply routes. These coordinated efforts between ground and air forces demonstrate Pakistan’s comprehensive approach to countering the militant threat and securing its borders. The operation reflects Islamabad’s commitment to maintaining national security and curbing cross-border terrorism.

It is worth noting that the situation remains fluid, with ongoing military engagements and diplomatic efforts aimed at stabilizing the region. The US support for Pakistan’s defensive measures highlights the strategic partnership between the two countries in addressing common security concerns. As Operation Ghazab lil-Haq continues, Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate militant threats and protect its citizens remains unwavering, signaling a determined stance against terrorism in all its forms.
