Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a significant decline on Tuesday, dropping by Rs4,000 per tola. This marks the second notable decrease in the local market within the span of a week, reflecting ongoing volatility influenced by global trends.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported that the price of 24-carat gold settled at Rs449,336 per tola after the reduction. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold also saw a decrease, falling by Rs3,429 to reach Rs385,233. These figures highlight the sensitivity of the domestic gold market to fluctuations in international bullion prices.
Meanwhile, the local market had already witnessed a downturn on Monday, when the price of 24-carat gold declined by Rs3,800 per tola. The 10-gram gold price also dropped by Rs3,258, settling at Rs388,662. This consecutive fall underscores a trend of decreasing gold values over the past few days.
On the international front, gold prices fell by $38 to $4,308 per ounce during Monday’s trading session. This global decline has directly impacted the Pakistani market, which remains closely tied to international bullion price movements. Notably, the last increase in gold prices was recorded on Saturday, when the price rose by Rs400 to Rs457,136 per tola, but this was short-lived as the downward trend resumed.
The ongoing decrease in international gold prices continues to exert pressure on the domestic market, with local prices fluctuating in response to global economic factors. This pattern reflects the interconnected nature of commodity markets and the challenges faced by investors and traders in predicting price movements amid global uncertainties.
