Trump Reaffirms US Stance on Iran Nuclear Weapons, Commends Shehbaz and Munir

In a significant development, President Donald Trump reiterated on Tuesday that the United States will not permit Iran to develop nuclear weapons. He also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, describing them as “incredible people” during ongoing diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran.

Earlier in the day, Trump characterized the Iran issue as “not urgent,” advising patience and prudence in the current negotiations during a phone interview with American media. He emphasized that there is no need to hasten decisions or diplomatic actions, urging Washington to proceed carefully and deliberately.

Trump highlighted that the US has implemented measures designed to sever Iran’s access to financial resources. He stressed that Tehran must be prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons, warning of the potential threat their possession could pose.

When questioned about the possibility of stopping Iran from enriching uranium, Trump confidently asserted, “100 percent, they are going to stop.” He further noted that Iran faces challenges related to nuclear contamination at damaged sites, which he claimed were targeted and destroyed by US Tomahawk missile strikes.

Trump added that Iran lacks the technical capacity to manage the cleanup of these contaminated facilities, suggesting that only China and the United States possess the expertise and equipment necessary for such operations. This statement underscores the complexity of the nuclear issue and the strategic considerations involved in the US-Iran negotiations.
