Vivo has announced the launch date for its Y600 5G smartphone in China. The handset will join the Y600 Pro and Y600i in the lineup, and the company is promoting its large battery as the main reason to buy it.
Pre-orders in China start on October 26, with sales beginning on October 30. The Y600 uses a 10,000mAh Blue Ocean battery, which Vivo says powered the phone through a nonstop livestream lasting 32 hours and 37 minutes. That run earned it a Guinness World Records title for the longest livestream test of an electronic product.
Design, camera and shared device code
Vivo has shown the phone in white and blue, with a flat frame and two rear cameras. The main camera is a 50MP unit with an aspherical lens.
The Y600 is linked to the Indian Vivo S2 FE and the Malaysian Vivo V80 Lite 5G, and all three share the device code V2626. Guinness World Records lists the S2 FE and V80 Lite 5G as regional names for the phone used in the record test. Vivo has not explained how the Chinese model’s hardware differs from versions sold in other markets.
How the Y600 compares with sister models
The Indian S2 FE has a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor, a 50MP main camera and a 32MP front camera. It also carries a 10,000mAh battery and supports 44W wired charging. Vivo has not yet confirmed the full specifications of the Chinese Y600.
The Y600 Pro has a 10,200mAh battery, a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 90W charging. Based on these figures, the Y600’s battery is slightly smaller, while its charging speed remains unknown. Vivo has not yet shared pricing, memory options, or whether the Y600 will be sold outside China.
