PCB Approves 13 Pakistani Players for 2026 Global Super League in Guyana

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has authorized 13 Pakistani players to participate in the upcoming 2026 Global Super League, scheduled to take place in Guyana from July 23 to August 1. This approval comes in the form of no-objection certificates (NOCs) that enable these players to compete in the third edition of the Twenty20 tournament.

The event will be hosted at Providence Stadium in Guyana, where five franchise teams will vie for the championship. The players granted permission include Mohammad Haris, Shahab Khan, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Farooq, Farhan Yousaf, Shamyl Hussain, Mehran Mumtaz, Usman Khan, Ali Shabbir, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Basit, and Khalil Ahmed.

In a significant development, the PCB emphasized that this initiative aims to provide national players with valuable exposure to international franchise leagues, thereby enhancing their professional growth and experience.

Representing Pakistan in the tournament will be the Lahore Qalandars, a franchise from the Pakistan Super League. They will compete alongside the host team, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and three other franchise champions from prominent overseas T20 leagues.

Organized by Cricket West Indies, the Global Super League assembles champion teams from leading domestic T20 competitions around the world. The third edition will continue this tradition at Providence Stadium with five franchises battling for the title.

Notably, the inaugural edition took place in November and December 2024, where Bangladesh’s Rangpur Riders triumphed over Australia’s Victoria by 56 runs in the final. The second edition occurred in July 2025, with Guyana Amazon Warriors defeating Rangpur Riders by 32 runs to claim the championship.
