Karachi to Host Pakistan’s Largest Interior Ministry Service Centre

Karachi is set to become home to Pakistan’s largest service centre dedicated to interior ministry services, offering citizens the convenience of accessing multiple services at a single location. The upcoming Grand Khidmat Markaz will integrate counters from all institutions under the Ministry of Interior, providing services such as passports, identity cards, arms licenses, various no-objection certificates (NOCs), and more.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the initiative during his visit to the Ministry of Interior office on II Chundrigar Road, where he reviewed the plans for establishing the centre. He emphasized that having all ministry services available in one place will greatly simplify the process for citizens seeking these services.

In a significant development, Naqvi instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the Grand Khidmat Markaz, ensuring that all necessary requirements are addressed. He requested that the plan be submitted within 10 days and urged the relevant authorities to take all essential steps to facilitate the project’s timely execution.

Meanwhile, the minister also inspected a new fleet of vehicles recently procured from China for the Islamabad Rescue and Fire Brigade. He welcomed the arrival of these vehicles, highlighting that this acquisition represents the largest enhancement to the Islamabad Rescue service since 2009. Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for their prompt delivery of the vehicles.

The modern rescue fleet will be stationed at six locations across Islamabad, operating around the clock. These vehicles are equipped to perform rescue operations at heights reaching up to 256 feet. The new fleet comprises four fire aerial trucks, six fire towers, and five fire tanks, all outfitted with advanced equipment. The vehicles are expected to be transported from Karachi to Islamabad within five days.
