Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced a digital document attestation system that lets citizens apply online and receive electronic certificates by email after verification.
The ministry said the system is designed to remove repeated visits to its offices, making attestation more convenient and accessible. Applicants submit their applications and documents online, and are notified of the outcome of the review.
How the online attestation process works
Once attestation is complete, applicants can pay the required fees online. The ministry will then issue an electronic attestation certificate and send it to the applicant by email.
Expected benefits for applicants and public services
The initiative is expected to reduce queues and waiting times linked to the traditional process, while saving applicants time and travel costs. It is part of wider efforts to modernise public services by expanding digital access and improving administrative efficiency.
