Parents planning to apply for a juvenile identity card for their child should first get their paperwork in order, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advised.
According to the agency, applicants must provide the original identity card number, or another legally recognised document, of the child’s mother or father.
Documents needed for the application
Form B, the Child Registration Certificate, must be filed with the application. When that form is unavailable, the CRMS number from an attested computerised birth certificate can be submitted instead.
Children born abroad must supply attested papers, such as an S1 form or a citizenship or immigration certificate, depending on their circumstances.
Verification and where to apply
One parent’s identity must be confirmed through biometric authentication, and the child must attend in person when the application is lodged. Parents should visit their nearest registration centre to complete the process.
