Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the Nepalese embassy in Islamabad on Thursday to show solidarity with Nepal after the recent catastrophic flash floods and landslides that resulted in significant loss of life and extensive damage.

During his visit, the prime minister signed the condolence book to honor those who perished in the disaster. He extended Pakistan’s heartfelt sympathies to the government of Nepal, the affected families, and the people mourning their losses.

Notably, Shehbaz reaffirmed the support he had previously conveyed to Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah during a phone conversation. He informed Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, that Pakistan would dispatch emergency relief supplies later this week to aid ongoing rescue and recovery efforts.

He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to stand by Nepal and expressed confidence that the resilient Nepali population would overcome the tragedy stronger than before.

In a significant development, Shehbaz highlighted the enduring fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Nepal, assuring that both nations would continue to support each other in times of crisis.

Ambassador Dhital expressed gratitude for the prime minister’s support, noting that this gesture would be deeply appreciated and remembered by the people of Nepal. She also updated the prime minister on the current status of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The prime minister was accompanied by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and other senior officials during the visit.
