FIA Arrests Ghotki Man for Impersonating NA Official with Fake Appointment Letter

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has detained Abdul Wajid, a resident of Ghotki, for impersonating a National Assembly official by presenting a counterfeit appointment letter. The arrest was made at the National Assembly premises under the directive of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

This case surfaced following public complaints and reports circulating on social media, prompting swift action from the Speaker. Abdul Wajid falsely claimed to be a Grade 17 officer, misleading government personnel and police authorities. He allegedly exploited this false status to secure undue privileges and protocol, while also reportedly harassing and pressuring citizens, which caused public concern and unrest.

Notably, the forged appointment letter bore the Speaker’s signature, which was fabricated. Despite having no legitimate ties to the National Assembly Secretariat, Abdul Wajid unlawfully enjoyed privileges reserved for official personnel.

The National Assembly Secretariat has clarified that Abdul Wajid has no employment record or affiliation with the institution. The appointment letter he used is entirely fraudulent and holds no legal validity.

In a significant development, the Secretariat’s spokesperson emphasized that forging documents with the Speaker’s signature and impersonating government officials constitute serious offenses punishable by law. They assured that stringent legal measures will be enforced against such individuals without exception.

Meanwhile, the Secretariat urged the public and government bodies to verify the authenticity of any appointment or official documents claimed to be issued by the National Assembly Secretariat. They also called for immediate reporting of any suspicious documents or activities to law enforcement agencies to prevent misuse of state institution identities.
