Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has confirmed that no technical working group meetings under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States are planned for this week. This statement was made public on Monday through Iranian media outlets.
Earlier reports had suggested that Iranian and American technical teams were expected to convene in the coming days to advance the implementation of the MoU. However, Gharibabadi’s remarks appear to lower expectations for immediate progress in these technical discussions.
Meanwhile, consultations between Iran and Qatar regarding US commitments are reportedly continuing as scheduled. Gharibabadi noted that although talks mediated by Qatar are underway, the technical working group meetings in Doha have yet to be officially confirmed.
These developments highlight the cautious and measured approach in the diplomatic exchanges between Tehran and Washington. Qatar remains a key mediator in facilitating dialogue aimed at implementing the memorandum, but no specific dates for future meetings have been announced.
