Security forces successfully neutralized eight terrorists backed by India during intelligence-based operations conducted in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts on June 25 and 26. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the operations on Saturday.

In a targeted operation in Kharan, troops tracked a militant group affiliated with the Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan. The forces engaged the militants promptly, killing three and injuring several others. Meanwhile, a separate intelligence-based operation in Mastung was launched on June 26 following information about the possible presence of a suicide bomber.

During the Mastung operation, security personnel engaged the terrorists in a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the elimination of five militants, including the suicide bomber. Weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles were recovered from the site. The ISPR stated that sanitization efforts are ongoing to root out any remaining India-sponsored terrorists in the region.

These counterterrorism efforts are part of the national security initiative “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which aims to eradicate foreign-backed terrorism from Pakistan. The operations will continue with full intensity to eliminate this threat.

In a significant development, President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for their professionalism and determination in these operations. He highlighted the bravery and sacrifices of the officers and soldiers involved and emphasized the need to persist until foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the successful operations against India-backed terrorists, acknowledging the destruction of their malicious plans. He affirmed that the fight against terrorism will continue relentlessly until its complete elimination, honoring the sacrifices of the security forces and vowing to defeat all threats to Pakistan’s peace.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the professionalism and courage of the security forces in conducting these timely and effective intelligence-based operations. He reiterated the government’s full support for the security personnel engaged in the ongoing war against terrorism.
