Security forces eliminated eight suspected militants during two intelligence-driven operations conducted in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Saturday.
These operations targeted militants affiliated with the Indian proxy group known as “Fitna al Hindustan.” The first operation took place on June 25 in Kharan, following intelligence reports about militant movement in the area. Security personnel engaged the militants in a well-coordinated and effective operation, resulting in the deaths of three militants and injuries to several others.
Meanwhile, a second intelligence-based operation was launched on June 26 in Mastung after security agencies received information regarding the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. The forces targeted the militants’ hideout, and after a fierce exchange of gunfire, five militants, including the alleged suicide bomber, were killed.
During these operations, security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles from the militants. The ISPR noted that clearance operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants believed to be supported by India.
In a significant development, the military reaffirmed its commitment to continuing counterterrorism efforts nationwide, aligned with the National Action Plan and the government’s Azm-i-Istehkam strategy.
