Foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt gathered in Cairo on Sunday to deliberate on regional developments and the progress of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), as confirmed by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.

The meeting, conducted in a confidential setting, concentrated on regional issues, the implementation status of the Islamabad MoU, and key areas for collaborative efforts. The four nations reiterated their dedication to dialogue, diplomacy, and regional ownership in addressing common challenges.

They emphasized the ongoing commitment to deepen cooperation aimed at fostering a more peaceful, stable, and interconnected region.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar took part in the fourth session of the Regional Four (R-4) Foreign Ministers meeting held in Cairo. He highlighted that the ministers reviewed the progress made under the Islamabad MoU, exchanged perspectives on both regional and global developments, and reaffirmed their pledge to diplomacy and collective action for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Discussions also centered on enhancing coordination and promoting practical cooperation within the R-4 framework to effectively tackle shared challenges.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ishaq Dar met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, where they discussed bilateral relations and regional collaboration under the R-4 platform.

The meeting concluded with the issuance of a joint statement, underscoring the collective commitment of the four countries to their shared objectives.
