Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, affirmed that terrorist attacks will not diminish the determination of the Pakistani nation. He pledged to eradicate terrorism with full force following a deadly blast near the railway track close to Chaman Phatak in Quetta on Sunday, which claimed the lives of at least 14 people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, and injured several others.

During his visit to Zhob District, Balochistan, to celebrate Eid ul Adha with frontline troops stationed along the western borders, the field marshal addressed the recent attack. He identified the incident as a cowardly act orchestrated by Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan and its proxies. Munir emphasized that such brutal and inhumane acts would not weaken the resolve of the Pakistan Armed Forces or the nation.

He highlighted the unwavering morale and determination of both the troops and the Pakistani people. The field marshal reiterated that the Armed Forces, working closely with law enforcement agencies and the people of Balochistan, would relentlessly pursue all facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism.

In a significant development, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the heinous blast, stating that such terrorist acts aim to harm the people of Pakistan and distract from the country’s efforts toward global peace.

The visit began with Eid prayers and special supplications for Pakistan’s lasting peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the nation. Field Marshal Munir extended Eid greetings to the officers and soldiers, praising their exceptional courage, steadfast resolve, operational readiness, and vigilance amid foreign-sponsored terrorism.

He paid tribute to the troops for their unmatched bravery and sacrifices in protecting the country from terrorism and hostile threats backed by adversarial forces. Upon arrival, the field marshal was welcomed by the Commander of Quetta Corps. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, honoring the brave martyrs who gave their lives defending the homeland.
