Iran’s Qalibaf Stresses No Compromise on Rights as Asim Munir Meets Tehran Officials

In Tehran, Iran’s Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf met with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on Saturday. Qalibaf underscored that Iran would not yield on its national rights, signaling a firm stance amid ongoing regional tensions.

During the discussions, Qalibaf highlighted that Iran’s armed forces had strengthened their capabilities during the ceasefire period. He issued a stern warning that if the United States were to recklessly reignite conflict, the repercussions would be significantly harsher and more severe.

Field Marshal Munir engaged in a series of high-level talks with senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The conversations centered on promoting regional peace, stability, and efforts to reduce tensions linked to US and Israeli military activities.

Notably, Iran’s foreign minister held a second meeting with Pakistan’s army chief, focusing on Tehran’s proposals. However, the foreign ministry spokesperson noted that the differences between the US and Iran remain substantial, with no further details disclosed immediately.

Pakistan has recently intensified its diplomatic efforts as Washington considers possible military options should indirect negotiations with Tehran collapse. Munir’s visit began with a reception by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, reflecting Islamabad’s commitment to fostering dialogue and easing regional strains.

These meetings occur amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with both Tehran and Islamabad aiming to manage diplomatic challenges and prevent further escalation in the region.
