Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in China on Sunday to begin a four-day official visit. Upon his arrival at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, he was warmly received by senior Chinese officials, including the vice governor of Zhejiang province, Jiang Zaidong, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi.
The prime minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and the prime minister’s adviser Tariq Fatemi.
Announced a day earlier by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the visit is scheduled from May 23 to 26. It holds particular significance as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
In a statement, the Foreign Office emphasized that this visit offers a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. It also aims to further the shared vision of fostering a closer community with a common future.
